The Yogi government on Tuesday said that anyone caught driving a two-wheeler without a helmet in the state will be fined Rs1,000.
Earlier, driving a two-wheeler without a helmet attracted a fine of Rs500 in the state. The state has now doubled it.
It has also said that those who do not give way to a fire brigade or ambulance vehicle will have to cough up Rs10,000 in fine. Apart from this, a fine of Rs1 lakh will be charged for sale of vehicle without following the mandatory rules. The fine for parking violation has been fixed at Rs1500.
The decisions were taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Adityanath on Tuesday. In all, 15 proposals were approved in the meeting.
